Next Time

Yesterday was a busy day!  I took care of a lot of little things and prepared for the upcoming week.  I also worked out, painted my nails, and did a check-in with my New Year’s Resolutions.  As is de rigor lately, I turned to Pinterest for outfit inspiration.

The word of the week is: skirts!  (Bird is not the word!)  Last week I wore pants a lot to class, so this week I am going to wear skirts.  This will be a bit of a challenge since we are having a cold snap and lots of snow, but I think that just makes it a bit more fun and interesting!

For my first skirt look, I took inspiration from this pin.  This outfit is basically a long-sleeved yellow/golden top, a black pencil skirt, a leopard print scarf, and black and gold accessories.  I knew that I could easily reproduce this outfit.  I started with the skirt and then I had two different options for tops.  I grabbed my v-neck golden sweater and a mustard-yellow boyfriend cardigan and v-neck t-shirt in the same color.  Just laying them on the bed I could tell that the v-neck sweater had the right look and feel.  The rest was easy!

Goldish sweater: Target. Black v-neck turtleneck: Old Navy. Leopard print scarf: Wal-Mart. Black pencil skirt: Target. Gold watch: Target. Black flowered earrings: Wal-Mart. Black pumps: Fioni.

I’ve done a look similar to this in the past, but I like this version the best so far!  Class this evening was so-so.  I had planned to do 2 chapters and an in-class activity to get my students up in front of the class, but I only was able to get through 1.5 chapters and no activity.

There’s always next time!
