While browsing through my fashion blogs I came across this outfit on J’s Everyday Fashion.  As soon as I saw it I clicked to save it on Pinterest because I instantly knew that I had all the elements in my closet to re-create this outfit.  I love when I get really excited and inspired to get dressed and play in my closet.

This morning I didn’t want to wear a skirt to my sit in front of a computer desk job.  So, I wore the top half of the outfit and paired it with some dark wash skinny jeans.  These jeans were in the under-the-bed-storage bag and I just pulled them out.  I am super-duper excited that I was able to wear them today because it wasn’t that long ago that I couldn’t fit in to them. . . .

For class this evening I needed to make my outfit more business and less casual.  Plus, the top can tend to slide and show a bit too much cleavage for class.  I also don’t have a black necklace like in the inspiration photo so I think that layering a black tank top with ruffle neckline solved those two issues.  I reallllllly need to replace my pointy-toed black shoes– I’m working on it, but apparently I am looking for the unicorn of shoes.  I swapped the jeans for my light colored khaki skirt, pantyhose, and basic black pumps.

There you have it!  Two takes on this outfit–one dressy and one casual.  Which do you prefer?

Copy, Copy

Monday morning I re-created this look from J’s Everyday Fashion.  I paired my black and white print trousers with a blue dress shirt and a gold sweater over top.  I pulled in gold-toned jewelry and brown accessories.  I would have never put this outfit together myself but I loved it!  That’s the thing I love about using Pinterest to help me create outfits and challenge me to put things together that I normally wouldn’t.

Tuesday I did my version of this Pinterest outfit collage.  I don’t have an emerald-green blouse but I wore my v-neck cardigan buttoned up over a tissue thin black turtleneck.  I paired this with my black skinny jeans and leopard print scarf.  I could have worn my grey boots but I am trying to get rid of them because they have seen better days and I don’t wear my black riding boots very often.

There you have it!  Two outfits to start the week that I copied from Pinterest.  Here’s a sneak peek of the photograph that my Thursday outfit is going to be based on, here.

This is not exactly the outfit that I had planned to wear Monday evening but this is what I ended up wearing.  I had a different outfit planned but when it didn’t work out I grabbed this dress that I had slated for Wednesday’s class.  I had picked out my brown blazer to go with it and I had in mind to do nude legs and my cognac brown pumps.  But, in the end I did not go with the brown blazer.  Instead, I went with this mustard-y colored open front cardigan and then added a belt to tie in the shoes.  I added gold accessories and called it complete.  It’s not one of my favorite outfits and I accidentally grabbed those shiny/sheer hose again.  Oh well.
