Behind, Again

I guess I forgot to write and post my outfit(s) for last week!  I have one professional dressy outfit from class on Tuesday and a casual, comfy outfit from Thanksgiving on Thursday.  Enjoy!

On Tuesday I went with a professional type of an outfit– it’s a pair of black trousers and a black blazer with a leopard print tie neck blouse underneath.  I’ve done this outfit before, truth be told.  And for Thanksgiving I went more casual with dark wash jeans (lots of stretch), a blue and white gingham button-down and an orange sweater.  My husband went with medium/dark wash jeans and a green and tan baseball long-sleeve t-shirt.

There you have it!  This week I will be starting a new class.  It’s a 4 week class like I did in October, but instead of teaching Business Communication I am teaching Effective Speaking.  The first week we meet 4 days, the second week 2 days, the 3rd week 3 days, and the 4th week 2 days.  It’s a bit of a crazy schedule but it’ll all work out!

Last week I wore skirts both days.  I had one outfit that was a planned outfit from several weeks ago, but the other one I came up with impromptu.

Here they are:

This outfit was my version of this pin, here.   Although, my husband says that the skirt in the pin is above the knee, and my skirt is professional.  I don’t have a reddish/rust colored scarf, so I went with a cream colored infinity scarf and added the rust color with my lipstick.  On Thursday, I did a version of this pin, here.  I started with a navy skirt and went from there.  I had a plaid shirt and a green cardigan.  Then, I added a belt and a green necklace.  I liked the outfit all except the shoes.  I didn’t have a pair of shoes that I really loved with the outfit.  However, my some of my students complimented my outfit on Thursday.  I awarded them all bonus points!

Which outfit do you like better?

Post Script

Last week I learned that in direct mail marketing messages readers tend to pay more attention to post scripts than other information.  That area is a high visibility area for our eyes to land.  So are the start and end of paragraphs.

The more you know. . . .

I’ve titled this blog post “Post Script” because it feels like an afterthought.  I am posting on Sunday about outfits that I wore on Tuesday and Thursday.  In my mind (an the blog-o-sphere) that’s a bit late.  There’s a lot of pressure to be on-trend and relevant.  Without further ado!

Tuesday’s outfit was a skirt because I had worn pants on Monday and a skirt on Thursday of the previous week.  To mix things up, I went with a skirt on Tuesday.  I was going to replicate an outfit from almost 4 years ago, but then I decided to put a spin on it!  In the older outfit I am wearing a light blue button-up, khaki skirt, nude pumps, and this same blue bauble necklace.  I switched the khaki skirt for a grey one and subsequently went with these faux snakeskin pumps.  The outfit is extremely similar as the other and I love it just as much.

Thursday I went with this blue dress.  I searched Pinterest for lots of different styling options with a blue dress.  I’ve styled this outfit a few different ways before, but one similarity that I noticed is that I seem to always wear my blue pumps.  On one hand– can you blame me?  When you have blue pumps it makes sense to wear them with a blue dress.  But, I wanted to mix it up.  Because the cardigan color is lighter I wanted to wear my nude pumps, but they just didn’t look right.  In fact, I didn’t love any of the shoe options and eventually, begrudgingly, went with these black mary jane pumps and called it a day.

Here are some other ways that I have styled this dress:

Thanks,
