February Done

The New Year always seems so fresh and so new but then the excitement starts to wear off.  February is such a short, little, quick month that it seems like it ends before you even know it!  But, let’s check in on my month of February.

Health and Well-Being

  • 138 lbs. by March 1/ Work out

I have done a great job with working out regularly!  For the last 9 weeks I have successfully completed 3 workouts.  I am extremely proud of myself for meeting this goal.  But, the best weigh-in that I’ve had has been 141.6–3.6 lbs. away from my goal.  The goal is for 137 lbs. by April 1.  That’s 4.6 pounds which is totally doable!

  • Drink more water, 2 cups of coffee a day and 48 ounces of water

I’m still not doing very good with this one.  I’m trying to drink more water and I’m starting to get there– one bottle at a time.  I have to keep working on this and I’m hoping with the warmer weather that drinking cold water will be easier.

  • Eat better

Because I haven’t made my weight loss goals I have started to count my calories.  My goal is about 1,200 calories each day–regardless of whether it’s a work out day or not.  I am hoping that this is going to get me on track!  I have a sweet tooth and I like to indulge in food so I have to start reeling it back.

  • Reach platinum level on Vitality (10,000 points)

I totally hit this goal out of the park!  At the end of February, I had reached 4,318 points.  I am going to keep pushing forward and hope to hit 5,000 points by the end of March.


  • Student Loans.

Hopefully with the extra that I have been paying I can get the total down to 24,500 after my payments for the month of March.

  • Retirement savings.

I took the steps to have my old 401(k) closed and the check sent to me so that I can forward it to my current 401(k) provider.  I sent it to them but I filled the paper out incorrectly because they sent it back to me to correct.  I want to take care of this by the end of March.

  • Savings.

I am working on putting money in to my savings but I know that there are going to be a few upcoming things where I will use some of that money.  But, that’s O.K. it’s all part of the plan.


  • I read a book in January called Only the Truth by Adam Croft.  I enjoyed the book but I did feel like the writer spent a lot of time developing the characters and the plot and then it seemed like the ending was rushed—almost like he was forced to just end it because of a publisher’s deadline.  I just downloaded and started a nonfiction book today.
  • Travel– I’m still working on the details of the trips to Cali and to Columbus but I hope that everything pans out as planned.
