Higher Level

Last Thursday was the end of s stressful week for me.  I mentioned in several posts from last week that my students were not where I expect them to be for how far into the class that we are.  I had to give each of my 3 sections a stern talking to in regards to applying the knowledge that they have been given in the first half of the semester to the tasks that they are asked to complete in the second half of the semester.

This is a difficult task for them.  If I asked them to memorize pages of vocabulary words they can do it no problem, but when I ask them to engage in higher level thinking/learning we have a bit of an issue.  Needless to say, there are some growing pains going on right now.

As for my outfit, it sprang from wanting to celebrate Spring and a pin on pinterest.  Also, it is the debut of one of the skirts that I sewed last year as part of my New Year’s Resolutions.  I cinched in the waist and pinned it with a safety-pin, but other than that it worked great in this outfit.

In the inspiration photo she is wearing an open-back purple long-sleeved top, a full floral midi skirt, and strappy silver shoes.  I re-created this look and made it classroom appropriate by pairing a thin purple v-neck sweater with my self-made floral skirt and nude pumps.  I also added a turquoise colored necklace to tie together the two pieces.  I loved this look!  I felt so ladylike and Spring-y.  I just wanted to twirl in my skirt all day.

Our Easter plans are more on the casual side, but this outfit is a strong contender!  I think if I wore it with flats it could be weather and occasion appropriate.  We shall see. . .

Do you like this look as much as I do?
