Little Black Dress and Lace Skirt

Posted by writergrll. Comments (6).

Wednesday I went with a very simple and basic outfit.  It also happens to be the third of the three dresses that I bought earlier this month around my birthday from Wal-Mart.  Although it’s just a basic black dress, I really tried to give it a lot of personality with the accessories.  In my mind I had this idea that I would pile on the gold jewelry.  And I did.  But then when I got to class and I had to evaluate the students I couldn’t stand the jingle jangle of all the bracelets.  So I took them off and stashed them in my purse!

Black wrap dress: Wal-Mart. Black pumps: Payless.

I really enjoyed the outfit and my BF said that he liked it, too.  Also, I was having a really great hair day on Wednesday.  On Thursday, I went with an outfit that I saw on Pinterest.  I’ve been wanting to wear my black lace skirt for a while, but I felt that I didn’t have the right shirt to duplicate the outfit.  A week or so back I thought that I could make it work with the shirt that I wore, but I had worn it earlier that week!

In the inspiration photo, she is wearing a blouse with a black background and tiny little pink and white flowers.  She is also wearing a blush colored cardigan with the black lace skirt.  The closest blouse that I had was this black and white polka dot shirt.  I also don’t have a blush colored cardigan, but I went with the closest color that I have which is this oatmeal color.  The picture doesn’t show what type of shoes the model is wearing, so I went with my t-strap pumps.  As I was walking into the school one of my students complimented my skirt.

What do you think?  Do you like my version of this outfit?  I’d love to hear your comments below.
