I think that I need to stop making promises that I can’t keep!  Every week I apologize for being late with my posts or grouping them all in to one, but yet it keeps happening again and again.  Although I love my blog dearly, it is one of the first things to get pushed to the bottom of the priority list.

Monday I ran some errands during the day and then met up with a friend for coffee.  It was really nice to be able to spend time chatting face to face with another human being.  And, the coffee and croissant didn’t hurt, either.  I met up with my friend directly before I had to leave for class so I had to wear something that was suitable for both occasions.

I have so many pins of outfits featuring ankle booties– both casual and dressy.  But, whenever I try my ankle booties on with an outfit they just never look right.  Inevitably, I don’t end up wearing them.  I didn’t love them with this outfit, either but I made myself wear them.  I was hoping that if I got used to it I would like it.  I’m still on the fence.  I think that the booties go well with the casualness that the jean jacket adds to the other wise business professional wrap dress.  I also like the way that they play up the nude/tan color in the print and tie in to the belt.  What do you think?  Are they a hit or a miss with this outfit?

Tuesday was a busy day with my morning class, break, afternoon class, and work at my 2nd job.  Tuesday’s are always all hustle and bustle.  I picked out my outfit on Monday evening, though.  This helps to streamline the morning routine.  Plus, I won’t sleep very well if I don’t have an outfit picked out.

This outfit is based on  this pin.  I’ve also done a version of this outfit before, too.  The last time that I did this outfit I used the same skirt and cardigan but that’s it!  I went with a chambray top before because I had recently worn my white and blue striped button up and brown pumps because of the weather.  This time around  I went with a much more literal translation of the pin on Pinterest.  I wore the blue and white striped shirt since I still don’t have a light blue button-up, but other than that I went with a very similar shoe: leopard print pump, tan cardigan, and gold necklace.  I think that I like this version slightly better.  But, the cardigan still doesn’t seem to work as well as the one in the pin.  I think it’s the bag that ties it all together!

Wednesday was my birthday!  It was also the opening day for the historic home where I volunteer.  I was over the moon to be privileged enough to be able to volunteer there on my birthday!  Plus, it was fun to see everyone after 3 months away.  Many of the rooms in the house were restored back to the way that they looked in 1915 when construction of the house was completed as opposed to the late 1950’s when the house was being transitioned into a museum.

I wasn’t sure if I would have enough time to come home and change in between my volunteer shift and evening class, but I did!  I wore my new dress.  It seems like I frequently buy new dresses on or around my birthday.  A few years ago it was my flowered dress, and last year it was this red number.  This year?  A flowered maxi-dress that I saw at Old Navy for 50% OFF and couldn’t pass up!

I was torn between wearing this dress on my birthday and wearing it to class on Thursday.  But, since I didn’t really pick out anything else to wear on Wednesday and I had a short amount of time to change and get ready I went with this dress.  It is sleeveless so I had to wear something over or under it.  I was thinking about a jean jacket or navy blazer but when I looked closer at the print I saw the soft pastel tones of pink and grey.  I tried on my pink cardigan but opted to go with this grey one, instead.  I also added a grey belt to give the dress a bit more structure.  I almost went with silvery/grey mary janes but I thought that they navy pumps looked more streamlined.  Besides, if you can’t wear navy pumps with a navy dress, when can you wear them?

I love this dress and can’t wait to wear it when the weather warms up and I can go without a cardigan and some strappy sandals.

There you have it, Monday-Wednesday review.  Thanks for reading.
