Sew 2 of 3 items

In the category of Health and Well Being I originally set out to do a lot to be in better physical shape.  But, that didn’t last for too long.  I stuck with it, veered away from it, came back to it for a hot second, and then strayed away again.  I have not been putting emphasis on drinking water, I haven’t worked out in who knows how long, and consequently I have not kept of weight or toned my weight.  This will most certainly be going on the list for next year.

I tried at the start of this week to start tracking my calories with, but that lasted all of a day before I started making fudge and cookies.  And eating them.

Finances/Work has been a good category for me, overall.  I amended my original plan of paying off my credit card debt because the I took advantage of a balance transfer that gave me an interest rate of 1.99%.  Therefore, mid-year I shifted goals to paying off my car by the end of the year.  I shifted, again, when I realized that my student loans should be my biggest concern.  I wiped out my savings at that time to eliminate one of my 6 student loans.  This means that now more of what I am paying is going towards the principal, which in the long run will save me a great deal.  As I mentioned in an earlier post, I paid off my car earlier this week.  So, that is a HUGE accomplishment.  I also took advantage of another balance transfer that will take my credit card interest from 16.74% to 0%.  The offer that I had before was about to expire.  I have paid that balance down to about $1,500!!!  Slowly, but surely I am getting rid of my debt.  It feels good to have those two small wins under my belt and they have definitely given me the gusto to keep going, which is the basis of Ramsey’s 7 baby steps.

Although I have not had a formal meeting with my department chair to discuss my future opportunities at my college, I have been getting in good face time with her by attending lots of meetings and professional development seminars.

In the Misc. category, I originally wanted to improve or gain friendships, travel, blog, read 12 books, and sew.  My updated goals reflected my progress, but still included the same items.  I try to work on friendships everyday, but it is a struggle.  Traveling was cancelled due to circumstances beyond my control and will remain on the list for next year.  I have tried to bring you timely and interesting content with the blog, and my new You Tube channel.  I think that my focus will me on more regular posting and vlogging for 2015.  I just completed my second skirt, so I have 2 projects down and 1 to go.  I have enough time to complete something, but it will be a a bit of a time crunch.  Especially since I have to read one more book to make my goal of 12!  I am about 25% through a book on Teddy Roosevelt, but I didn’t know that it was over 900 pages.  I am trying to decide if I want to push hard and finish that book, or put that one on the back burner in lieu of a more quick read.  I am not sure what I am going to do, yet.

There you have it.  As you can see, I fell short in some area’s and I am already thinking about my goals and plans for next year.  Lol.
