This week marks the last week of classes for Fall 2017.  It’s always a bittersweet time– I’m happy to be done, but also sad that it’s over, too.  Monday I didn’t grab any photo’s but my outfit merely consisted of my cream-colored maternity shirt with lace overlay and maternity khaki’s.  Not a very exciting outfit to say the least.  My outfit on Wednesday was slightly more exciting, but not by much.

I started with a purple maxi dress.  I had the idea to wear the polka dot khaki scarf and then my brown flat riding boots.  I had originally thought about an oatmeal colored cardigan but the one that I thought of didn’t look right.  It was too long and looked sloppy.  Instead, I opted to go more monochromatic and go with a purple cardigan.  The cardigan is a slightly darker shade of purple but I went with it anyway.  Instead of my brown riding boots I went with my tan suede-like booties.  They are a closer match to the color of the infinity scarf, too.  Lastly I added my oversized gold watch and gold dangle earrings and called it complete.

I don’t know what it was but that day I was feeling extra-large and pregnant.  I am currently at 35 weeks so I’ve got 5 more weeks until my actual due date.  But, I’ve talked with my daughter and told her that anytime after 37 weeks I’d be overjoyed to hold her in my arms.  (We’ll see what happens.)

Wednesday I based my outfit off of the pin on the left.  I pinned it awhile ago and I really like how she is rocking a midi length skirt, the grey booties, a white shirt, denim jacket, and scarf.  It’s dressy yet comfortable looking and with the muted tones of blue and grey in the skirt it just screams “FALL!” to me.  I re-created this look using items that I have in my closet.  The length and color pattern of the dress I bought for my baby shower worked perfectly in my recreation of this outfit.

I would have liked to layered a white t-shirt over the top of the dress to make it look like two separate pieces but I need a new white t-shirt– the one that I would normally wear has a stain and needs replaced.  Instead, I went with a white v-neck sweater.  It worked out o.k., but as I would move and shift throughout the day the sweater would creep up over my big ‘ol baby belly.  Sadly, I found myself tugging it down throughout the day.  I added my dark denim jacket and rolled the cuffs like in the original photo.  Because the colors in my skirt are different from hers I chose to go with a pink scarf— not to mention that I don’t have a plain grey scarf.  Lastly, I thought about my tan suede booties with this outfit but I didn’t think that they good and so I went with silver mary janes.

This is the fourth time that I have styled this dress.  The first time I wore it was at our housewarming/baby shower and I went with a magenta pink cardigan.  The second time I wore it to class to teach and paired it with an olive-green cardigan and brown flats.  The third time that I wore it was to my second baby shower and I layered black leggings underneath and a black cardigan over top (not pictured.)

So far this dress has been a great purchase and I know that I will be able to wear it postpartum, also.

Wednesday I continued with my trend of re-wearing all of the outfits from the beginning of the semester that still work this late in my pregnancy.  I first wore this in week 5 of the semester at 25 weeks pregnant.  We are currently in the 13th week of the semester and I am now 33 weeks pregnant– what a difference 8 weeks makes.

Here is how I styled the dress in week 5:

I went pretty simple with a burgundy cami underneath, gold toned jewelry, bare legs, and black ballet flats.  This time around I decided to stick with the burgundy since it’s such a great Fall color.  However, I incorporated it this time with a burgundy t-shirt layered under the dress and burgundy tights.  I was going to also wear a burgundy cardigan but I thought that it would be too in-your-face, so instead I opted to go with a brown grandpa style cardigan and brown ballet flats to tie it all together.  I went with the same oversized gold watch but this time around I went with black and gold earrings.  For my makeup, I went with a bit of a monochromatic burgundy eye look and burgundy stain on my lips.  You might have also noticed that I parted my hair on the other side this morning.  I don’t know why– I just did.  I flipped it over that way when I was blow-drying it and I kinda liked it so I went with it.
