We’re starting to get this camera thing figured out!  Yesterday my husband worked from home for part of the day because we were having the washer and dryer delivered (!!) and we weren’t sure if they would be here and have it installed before I had to go to class.  (Of course they were!). Luckily, it wasn’t a big deal for him to start the day from home.  Since he was home with me I asked him to help me, once again, with focusing the camera and getting it all set-up.  I’m excited because these pictures are much more crisp and in focus and I am happy to share them.  Plus, I am wearing this plaid maternity sweater for the first time.

I bought this sweater in my first purchase of maternity clothes in June and I picked this sweater because it was on clearance during the Summer and I thought that it would be perfect for Fall/Winter when my belly was bigger.  It’s not a super thick sweater but it is so soft and cozy and I really wish that I could wear it everyday.

For it’s debut I went with a simple and classic outfit and paired it with black maternity dress pants and red ballet flats.  I would love to dress this up for Christmas with a red skirt and black knee-high boots.  Or, I could see layering a collared button-up shirt underneath, topping it with my white frost-free vest, skinny jeans, and flat riding boots for a casual Fall outfit perfect for apple picking or a visit to the pumpkin patch.

In other news, we’re getting settled in to our new house and I hope to share pictures soon.  Right now the silliest little things make me extremely happy– like having the washer and dryer delivered and being able to do laundry.  Our next hurdle is getting the lawn mower and new vacuum cleaner and a little further down the list is new bedroom and living room furniture.  Then, we’ve got dining room table and last but not least– the nursery.  Let’s just say it’s a bit of a work in progress.

These photo’s from Friday morning are a little less blurry but still not as crisp and sharp as I would like.  I asked my husband to focus the camera but we were both rushing to get out the door on time so it was a quick effort.  I woke up chilly that morning so I went with my non-maternity skinny olive-green pants, a cream-colored maternity top, and a navy boyfriend style cardigan.  My feet were cold and even though I think the socks look a bit silly I wasn’t willing to go without socks on my feet.  I’m not necessarily in love with how this outfit looks but it was comfortable.  I am amazed that these pants are still working this far in to my pregnancy.

On Saturday I went with a sporty and casual outfit of jeans, a long-sleeved white t-shirt, and an Indian’s jersey.

I am wearing the jersey opened and unbuttoned since we are past the point of being able to button it.  LoL.  It’s hard to tell from how I’m posed in this picture but I am wearing a white belly band from Wal-Mart.  It’s a stretchy tube of fabric that can help give support to the baby bump.  But, it also allows for me to wear my jeans unzipped and unbuttoned without being improper.  The belly band goes over my pants to hold them up and cover that they aren’t zipped and then I wore my long-sleeved t-shirt un-tucked over that for an additional layer.  It’s very functional and is helping me get more mileage out of my non-maternity clothes.

I mentioned briefly that we were moving from our apartment to our first home.  Well, that happened!  Last Thursday was the big day with the movers.  I was extremely happy that everything was moved on Thursday.  But, that meant that the following several days were spent putting the house together and frequent trips to Wal-Mart and home improvement stores for odds and ends and organizational items.  I never thought that shopping for a kitchen junk drawer organizer could make me so happy.

Monday was Labor Day and we didn’t do much but hang about the house and rest and re-charge.  We went to visit my parents Saturday evening and celebrate my Dad’s birthday and pick up a rocking chair that my mom wanted to pass along to us.  On Sunday we went to my in-laws to celebrate my sister-in-law’s birthday with cake and ice cream.  But, Wednesday it was back to work!  I had a 22-week check-up appointment at my Dr.’s before class.  I’ve been wearing dresses but with my check-up I needed to wear a shirt and pants.  I felt like this was the first outfit where it was obvious that I was pregnant but none of my students mentioned it.  I guess there really is a strong stigma against asking a woman if she’s pregnant.

I wore this maternity flowered top with a cream-colored camisole underneath.  I paired it with one of my newest maternity items–khaki pants.  This time around I added a bronze colored belt, brown ballet flats, a gold watch, and gold earrings to finish off the outfit.  I’m sorry that these photo’s are a little blurry.  I took these pictures in my new dining room and I didn’t know that the focus wasn’t set correctly.  I thought about not sharing them but I decided to go ahead and share them, anyway since you can still see my outfit.

What do you think?
