Oh boy (girl).  It’s starting to get harder and harder to get dressed each week as my body grows and changes due to pregnancy.  I’ve made it into the 3rd trimester– I am at 28 weeks– woohooo– approximately 12 weeks to go.  But, at this point I pretty much can’t fit any of my skirts and I’m growing out of my dress pants.  I have 2 pairs of maternity dress pants– one in khaki and one in black.  I have about 16 days left to teach this semester so I’m going to have to make heavy use of those 2 pairs of maternity pants along with some of my dresses that can still stretch over the bump.

This outfit is based on this pin, here.  I’ve done a version of this outfit pre-pregnancy.  It’s basic and simple but with the accessories feels very preppy, pulled together, and polished.  I’ve started with my navy blue trousers, chambray button-up, and an oatmeal colored cardigan.  In the original photo, the outfit is finished with a choker length multi-string pearl necklace, an animal print tote bag, and camel colored leather driving shoes.  I went with my single strand pearl necklace that I doubled, pearl drop earrings, navy blue pumps, and my camel colored purse (not shown here).  I think that this outfit looks good but I cannot lie– I feel like a bloated hippo.  Oh well.

My outfit on Wednesday was based off of this pin.  There is something about this photo that really resonates with me!  I love how fresh-faced the woman looks– her makeup is definitely done but yet simple.  I also love how she is pairing a casual striped top with a vibrant red blazer and a statement necklace–sans earrings and her hair is perfectly done/un-done.  I’ve done a recreation of this look, before, but this is the first time doing it while pregnant.

I feel like I wear this blue and white striped maternity t-shirt all.the.time.  I really don’t, but it does feel like I do.  As in the inspiration photo I paired it with a red blazer, a silver statement necklace, and bold red lips.  I went with red ballet flats and black maternity trousers to finish the look and make it work-appropriate.  I went without bronzer and a heavy dose of highlighter to get that same fresh-faced glowing look.  Honestly, I feel puffy and pregnant in this photo and not so dewy and glowy.

Here are three other ways that I have worn this top:

Tuesday morning I wore this outfit to work.  It’s really nothing special– I’ve worn this top a handful of times and I think the very first time that I wore it I layered this navy tank top underneath.  I’ve paired it with my dark wash skinny maternity jeans and gold earrings and watch.  It’s finally starting to feel like Fall so I went with these short suede-like booties and cuffed my pant legs to let my socks peek out.

These are 3 other ways that I’ve styled this top and captured a photo.  The first time I went with a navy tank top underneath (you can’t see it), the second time I went with a hot pink camisole underneath and added a navy woven belt and purple ballet flats, and the 3rd time I went with a cream-colored camisole underneath, a bronze belt, khaki pants, and brown ballet flats.  Now that it’s getting cooler for the entire day, I think that I should start experimenting with wearing different cardigans or blazers over this blouse and try pairing it with different bottoms.
