This week’s weather was all over the place– it was in the 60’s, down in the 30’s, it rained, it snowed.  When Mother Nature is confused like that it can make getting dressed each morning a challenge.  But, here’s what I wore to work this past week.

Tuesday

This blush colored top is one of the items that I bought on my shopping spree a week ago.  I’ve been wanting to wear it but the weather hasn’t been cooperating.  Here I am wearing it with very dark wash skinny jeans and a 3/4 sleeved gold cardigan.  I wasn’t sure what shoes to wear and on an impulse I grabbed these gold ballet flats and tried them out.  I really liked the way that they looked!  I almost never wear them and when I did my big shoe inventory last year I put them on the chopping block.  But, this may just be their saving grace.  I added a silver watch and my pink “lucky” turtle necklace.

Wednesday

I returned back to my volunteer position on Wednesday.  It was the first Wednesday of the season.  We have a dress code so I wore khaki pants, a white dress shirt, and a navy cardigan.  I accessorized with a silver and blue necklace.  I had intended to change before class that evening but I didn’t.  I also didn’t take any photo’s.

Thursday

This outfit turned out better than expected!  I actually wasn’t too sure about it and then when I was importing the photos I realized that I really like it.  It’s based on these pins here, here, and here.  All three of those pins are a blue and white gingham shirt, jeans, and a cardigan.  Two of them feature a regular style brownish/gold cardigan and one is a boyfriend style in an oatmeal color.  Two of the outfits have brown cognac belts, one features a long pendant necklace and distressed jeans.  The other two have normal skinny jeans and either burgundy heels or booties.  My outfit is my creation from the 3.

Friday

On Friday it snowed!  I had to bust out the cold weather gear and I did that by layering this pink button-down shirt over a long-sleeved white t-shirt and then topping it with a white frost free vest.  On the lower half I went with medium wash skinny jeans and my cognac flat riding boots.

Saturday

I finished the week out with another casual outfit of my cropped Mickey sweatshirt, distressed boyfriend jeans, and white leather Converse.  Casual and comfy.

What do you think?  Which outfit is your favorite?

The latter half of this week I’ve worn casual outfits.  Even though we are inching closer and closer to Spring we are still technically in Winter and we’ve had some weather to reflect that.  My outfits were all about layering and bundling up for warmth.  Also, I’ve worn a lot of scarves this week.

Thursday

I gave you a sneak peek of this outfit in my last post.  I started with my lighter wash bootcut jeans.  Then, I added a burgundy t-shirt.  I don’t have a long coat, blazer, or cardigan that matches the one in the inspiration photo so I went with a brown boyfriend style cardigan.  My scarf doesn’t have as much contrast with a light background but it’s the closest match that I have.  Lastly, I went with my suede booties to finish off the look.

Friday

Friday I did a version of this outfit.  I don’t think that mine turned out as well, but that’s OK.  I paired a v-neck grey t-shirt with dark wash jeans and added a loose and flowy oatmeal cardigan.  I went with a wide tan belt and brown shoes.  I think that my outfit would have worked better if I went with my dark wash skinny jeans and cuffed them and wore my suede booties but my ankles said “no way!” to being exposed to the Winter weather and snow on the ground.

Saturday

Saturday was the slightest bit warmer than Friday (like, 3 degrees) so I did opt to go with my dark wash skinny jeans and bare my ankles to the world.  Saucy!  In the inspiration photo she is wearing denim pants but they are such a dark wash that they almost come off as black.  I do have a darker wash pair of jeans but I don’t know exactly where they are so I just went with my other ones.  I don’t have a taupe-y colored sweater with an asymmetrical hemline so I went with an oatmeal colored cardigan that I wore buttoned-up and layered over a white long-sleeved t-shirt.  I could have gone with a grey cardigan but it didn’t mesh well with the colors in my blanket scarf.  I tried to wrap my scarf as close to how she has hers as possible and I think I got pretty close.  Lastly, add coffee cup and voila! instant person.

There you have it!  Those are the outfits that I wore for the end of the week.  Which is your favorite re-created look?

A simple and easy look for Saturday with a light blue long-sleeved v-neck t-shirt under a soft royal blue sweater.  Add medium wash skinny jeans and grey boots and you’re all set!
