I have been a busy little blogger and I’ve added a lot of things for you this afternoon and I don’t want you to miss out on any of them. First, I set-up the gallery page for the Fall 2013 semester. You can go here and see a thumbnail picture of the outfits that I wore for any given day. You can also see outfits that I’ve worn for past semesters. Sadly, even though this is the beginning of the 3rd year of my blog, since I switched things around in the middle I don’t have the pictures for Fall 2011, Spring 2012, or Summer 2012 for you. You only have Fall 2012 and Spring 2013. I have the pictures, but not in the media library for this site. Maybe one day, when I’m really bored, I’ll transfer over all the files— how does that sound?!? Secondly, I updated my Book Report page with my thoughts on my latest book conquest, Fin & Lady: A Novel by Cathleen Schine. I highly recommend it, so check out my Book Report page and read all about why.

Lastly, I do want to remind you to be on the lookout for an update to my Quarter 2 Goals and my last set of goals for 2013. And, maybe since I just realized that 8/27 was the 3rd birthday of my blog, I’ll do something special for you, but don’t hold me to it, o.k.? And, don’t feel too bad about my forgetting my blog’s birthday, I almost always forget my parent’s wedding anniversary on August 30.

Onward and upward.

I have been giving myself some challenges to overcome and pushing myself to be creative with my outfits. First, I always try to wear something differently. There is nothing wrong with repeating an outfit, but I also don’t really feel like I need to! Even if it’s just something simple as wearing a different pair of earrings or shoes, I like to try to make use of all of the items in my closet. Otherwise, what is the point of having them? One of the challenges that I gave myself is to wear the opposite of what I wore the first day. For instance, on Monday I wore pants, so I challenged myself to wear a dress or skirt on Wednesday. On Tuesday I wore a skirt, so I challenged myself to wear a pants based outfit on Thursday.

I was super excited to wear this dress while the weather is warm enough to wear it by itself. The last time I wore it, here, it was on a chilly day during the Spring semester and I had to layer it with thick tights and a cardigan. That time, I paired it with silver toned jewelry, grey and black shoes, dark tights and a burgundy cardigan. This time, I decided to highlight the bright blues and light grey colors in the dress. I’ve layered it with a turquoise tank top to remain professional. Even though I am wearing a grey pointy-toed slingback, I decided against silver-toned jewelry and opted, instead, for these royal blue and gold earrings. I’m also doing bare legs, again! I think I’ve done bare legs more this week than I have in my entire teaching career! I think that I am going to keep doing it as long as I can get away with it. Not to mention, I love the little bit of Summer color I have from my recent vacation.

There are some outfits that I look back on and I think, that is a very teacher-like outfit. This is definitely one of those dresses. It’s a hard concept to describe, but I look and feel like a teacher in this dress.

What do you think? Do you like this most recent styling of this dress or the first version? I know which is my favorite.
